If you want to try a live install, pretty much all of the mainline OSs let you try it before you install, even allowing you to install software in the live session without touching your current OS;

Bazzite Based on Fedora, designed for gaming.
Debian Huge install base, hundreds of other distros based on it, once you try it, you may never go back.
